The project contract was signed jointly by Huaqi Intelligent and India's TITAGARH RAIL SYSTEMS LTD (TRSL).

TRSL is a renowned private rolling stock manufacturer in India, its business covering comprehensive solutions including freight wagons, metro cars, and propulsion systems, and it actively promotes the "Make in India" national strategy. This collaboration marks the third cooperation between the two parties, following the Pune Metro Line 1 and the Surat & Ahmedabad Metro projects. By the end of 2025, Alstom had awarded the Mumbai Metro Line 4 project to Huaqi Intelligent, encompassing the design and supply of onboard PIS for 39 six-car trains. Previously, Huaqi Intelligent's Passenger Information Systems have been successfully deployed and are in service on Mumbai Metro Lines 2A, 2B, and 7. Winning this bid means that Huaqi Intelligent has secured the supply of passenger information systems for all newly constructed metro line vehicles in Mumbai since 2018.
